Curious Olivia

I have been wanting to take Olivia to her first movie for a while now, soo, when we had to get out of the house for a few hours, and Curious George was playing at the local theater it was time test the waters. Olivia and I went to see a 1:40 Curious George showing and after taking out a second mortgage to pay for the tickets, Olivia got really excited to see the candy counter. Olivia got a sack of M&Ms and a bucket of Sprite, and I got a movie theater version of a small popcorn (read more popcorn than an elephant could eat in a week).

While we waited in line to get into the show, Olivia was really excited to see the screen that was as big as the house. She liked the light up stairs that helped you to see where you were walking.

The funniest was getting into our seats. The theater has really big comfy stadium seating. Problem is, the seat would not stay down when little miss 27 lbs got in it. I had to put the arm rest up between us and keep my leg on the end of the seat to keep it down. Very funny. A nice lady behind us offered to take a picture since she saw a corny dad taking pictures of his little girls first movie. Take a look below. Anyway, Olivia was very good during the movie. She watch intently and did not talk. She had a ball eating M&Ms and drinking her soda.

We Made It!

With only a little drama we made it out of the house today, to the airport, on the plane and to Colorado!

Olivia was very excited to get on the plane to come see Nicholas and Philip. Our flight was a little delayed in San Fran, but as soon as we got on the plane, Olivia buckled in, put on her headset to watch the TV monitor and was ready to fly. She would occasionally look out the window, then look at Kim and say "Are we there yet??"

Sophia got her own seat since no one took the middle seat between Kim and Olivia. SHe was going to be a "lap rider" but she was very happy to have a seat; for a little while anyway. She also watched the TV for a bit, then got a little antsy. Meanwhile....

Gracie Mae was the perfect little travler. She fell alseep just after take off on daddy's shoulder. Daddy got to watch ESPN for about the first hour while Gracie slept and Kim and Sophia went 12 rounds in the next aisle over.

Daddy took over and went another 5 rounds with Sophia until she finally settled down for a peanut butter sandwich.

We landed without a hitch and made our way to baggage claim in Denver on moving walkways, elevators, escalators and trains. Olivia was very into the various modes of transport. It was like the movie "Trains, Planes and Automobiles", but add elevators, escalators, sidewalks, strollers, and Daddy's back.

So the girls and Kim will be here in Boulder for the week while I head back east. I will meet back up with them next Friday night and head back to San Fran on Monday. We should have lots of pictures and stories for you then.

The Holiday Season Picture Book

I wanted to share some fun pictures from the holiday season since I have not been great about updates. See the new Princess TV episode and enjoy a second chance to feel "Christmas-y"

What's New?

Part-time Daycare
Olivia and Sophia are going to Nanny's two/three days a week which means they are home most of the time. Last week Daycare was closed and we took in Emma , one of the girls friends for two days. Olivia loved it! She really likes having friends over. She likes to have someone dress up with her and Emma is sweet enough to listen and do what Olivia says so everyone has a good time.

Gracie Mae
Gracie is nine months old now and weighs 18lbs. She is being measured on the regular charts now and is at 45 and 50% with her weight and height compared to other children her age. She is 75% with her head so needless to say it is quite large. She is trying to sit up but falls over quite easily and often, Olivia is very entertained by this. Gracie is 7 months adjusted age and is doing almost all things that a seven month old baby would do.

Sophia Plum
Sophia is a sweetheart, she is sooo happy and loves to dance as you can see from the video. She is now saying Hi and bye, ball, shoes, nose, ear, teeth, dog - she loves Ram, although I have caught her trying to ride him lately which is not good but Ram puts up with it mostly because Sophia is the one that feeds him all day. He follows her everywhere. She is the biggest climber and daredevil I have ever seen. When I check on her at nap time, I sometimes find her sitting on top of her dresser (scary) but she cracks up when I tell her to get down. We have to keep an eye on her.

Sisterly Love
Olivia is still thrilled with Gracie, it is hard to keep her away from her. Sophia is starting to look at Gracie and I caught her saying tickle, tickle to her the other day. As for Olivia and Sophia, they are really starting to play together. They chase each other with their dolly strollers and although Olivia still hurts Sophia, Sophia is starting to fight back. Greg calls it the laverne and shirley fighting. They just scream and slap at each other. It makes me laugh although I know it is only going to get more interesting.
A while back, Greg showed you our time out chair. This is the chair that Olivia spends the majority of her time in. Sophia always goes over and watches Olivia while she is in the chair and has started climbing into the chair after Olivia leaves it. She will sit in the chair and scream (imitating her sister). It is a riot! We bought a new bath tub that blows up for Gracie because she is not quite ready to sit up in the bath seat by herself but is way too big for the infant tubs. Look at who thought her tub was a boat. It was a fight just to get everyone out of it so we could put Gracie in it.

The House, the car, our life
We believe we have sold the Volvo, we decided that we would get a new car once we get back east because we truly need to fit all of the children in both cars.

The house is going on the market the week after superbowl so we shall see.

The "stager" came the other day to tell us what we need to do to make our house marketable. All I can say, is my notes for each room ='remove everything'. Ugh, I don't know how we are going to live but all toys and most signs of children and clutter need to be packed up. If you have been here, you know what this means.

We are taking a trip to Colorado to see Nick and Philip, Olivia is very excited. I am going to take the girls there and Greg is going back East. It will be fun to just spend some time. We will most likely see snow and Olivia and Sophia will be able to fight over the fire engine bed.

In Summary - I will be grey and Greg does not have the head of hair he used too but we are surviving.
