Curious Olivia

I have been wanting to take Olivia to her first movie for a while now, soo, when we had to get out of the house for a few hours, and Curious George was playing at the local theater it was time test the waters. Olivia and I went to see a 1:40 Curious George showing and after taking out a second mortgage to pay for the tickets, Olivia got really excited to see the candy counter. Olivia got a sack of M&Ms and a bucket of Sprite, and I got a movie theater version of a small popcorn (read more popcorn than an elephant could eat in a week).

While we waited in line to get into the show, Olivia was really excited to see the screen that was as big as the house. She liked the light up stairs that helped you to see where you were walking.

The funniest was getting into our seats. The theater has really big comfy stadium seating. Problem is, the seat would not stay down when little miss 27 lbs got in it. I had to put the arm rest up between us and keep my leg on the end of the seat to keep it down. Very funny. A nice lady behind us offered to take a picture since she saw a corny dad taking pictures of his little girls first movie. Take a look below. Anyway, Olivia was very good during the movie. She watch intently and did not talk. She had a ball eating M&Ms and drinking her soda.

We Made It!

With only a little drama we made it out of the house today, to the airport, on the plane and to Colorado!

Olivia was very excited to get on the plane to come see Nicholas and Philip. Our flight was a little delayed in San Fran, but as soon as we got on the plane, Olivia buckled in, put on her headset to watch the TV monitor and was ready to fly. She would occasionally look out the window, then look at Kim and say "Are we there yet??"

Sophia got her own seat since no one took the middle seat between Kim and Olivia. SHe was going to be a "lap rider" but she was very happy to have a seat; for a little while anyway. She also watched the TV for a bit, then got a little antsy. Meanwhile....

Gracie Mae was the perfect little travler. She fell alseep just after take off on daddy's shoulder. Daddy got to watch ESPN for about the first hour while Gracie slept and Kim and Sophia went 12 rounds in the next aisle over.

Daddy took over and went another 5 rounds with Sophia until she finally settled down for a peanut butter sandwich.

We landed without a hitch and made our way to baggage claim in Denver on moving walkways, elevators, escalators and trains. Olivia was very into the various modes of transport. It was like the movie "Trains, Planes and Automobiles", but add elevators, escalators, sidewalks, strollers, and Daddy's back.

So the girls and Kim will be here in Boulder for the week while I head back east. I will meet back up with them next Friday night and head back to San Fran on Monday. We should have lots of pictures and stories for you then.
