A Perfect umm 10??

Olivia had a presentation project at school this year that required her to research and prepare a 3 minute presentation on someone who was influential in the 19th century. Olivia choose Nadia Comaneci since she was the first person to score a perfect 10 in competitive gymnastics and she defected from the communist Romania in 1989. Olivia did a lot of research and learned so much about Nadia as a gymnast, but also as a symbol of hope for political freedom.

Olivia prepared a presentation and of course mom and dad got in the mix. As part of the presentation Olivia needed a board to post facts to support the presentation. Mom came up with the idea of a 10 and of course dad said, "An I can put lights on it!!"

The "10" is significant because when Nadia got the first ever 10 on bars the score board read "1.0" because there was never a 10 before they did not even make a scoreboard to read 10. At first Nadia's coach thought the judges gave her a 1, but after a few moments they explained it was a 10 but the board just could not show it correctly. So if you look at the board Olivia made it is a 10, but notice the decimal place in the middle that makes it appear as a "1.0" It was a cool idea and we all had fun with it.

Olivia did a great presentation and got a 12/12 on her presentation.
